“B Sides and Rarities Vol. 2”, alla scoperta dell’album di Rumer

Pluripremiata artista inglese, Rumer annuncia ‘B Sides and Rarities Vol. 2‘, il nuovo album di inediti e rarità in arrivo in formato digitale, cd il 22 aprile e in formato vinile e vinile edizione limitata il 21 ottobre. Il disco è anticipato dal singolo ‘Roses’, un brano interamente scritto da Rumer che evidenzia ancora una volta le sue incredibili doti da storytelling. Il singolo è uno dei due inediti contenuti in Vol. 2 e sul brano l’artista afferma: “Roses” is a kind of a stream of consciousness taken place on a night bus – with images of childhood, of every day struggle, how tough it is especially for older women who are tired and working very hard manual jobs. I am relating my own struggle to others I see around me, and understanding the struggles in myself. It’s a meditation and a reflection on womanhood with Roses representing feminine desires, Ultimately, it’s a song about hope during times of great struggle, hope for beauty, for roses to show up and bloom, personally and in our lives”.

‘B Sides and Rarities Vol. 2’ contiene, oltre a due canzoni originali di Rumer, personalissime rivisitazioni di brani di eclettici artisti che spaziano da Elton John e Bernie Taupin a Burth Bacharach, da Van Morrison a Hugh Prestwood ed altri ancora, una raccolta di composizioni alcune delle quali sono già state pubblicate nell’acclamato album ‘Nashville Tears’ del 2020.

La più recente pubblicazione di Rumer è ‘Live at Lafayette’, il primo disco dal vivo tratto dal concerto tenutosi a Lafayette, Londra, nell’inverno 2020 e pubblicato a settembre 2021. Da sempre innamorata dallo storytelling in stile country-folk, il successo per Rumer arriva nel 2010, con la pubblicazione di Seasons of My Soul’, certificato disco di platino in Regno Unito ed Irlanda e che le è valso un MOJO Award come miglior debutto, dando per lei il via ad una carriera piena di elogi. Tra i 40migliori Debut Album of the Decade, ‘Seasons of My Soul’ ha portato la talentuosa Rumer ad ottenere numerosi riconoscimenti, tra cui la nomination ai Brit Award nel 2011 nelle categorie British Breakthrough Act e British Female Solo Artist.
