“CrazyTown”, il nuovo album di Beth Nielsen Chapman

Dandidata ai Grammy nella Songwriter’s Hall of Fame, torna con un nuovo straordinario album in arrivo il 23 settembre 2022

Sin dal suo esordio nel 1980 con l’album ‘Hearing It First’, Beth Nielsen Chapman ha senza ombra di dubbio lasciato il suo personalissimo segno nella musica. Prodotto dal celebre Ray Kennedy, cinque volte vincitore di un Grammy Award, ‘CrazyTown’ combina il classic rock con il blues ed il pop, per un risultato di grande effetto. Profondo e personale, il disco esplora temi come gli alti e bassi della vita, l’amore e la speranza.

Tra i momenti salienti dell’album troviamo in apertura ‘All Around The World’ e ‘Put A Woman In Charge’, una potente dichiarazione più umanitaria che politica per la leadership femminile, originariamente scritta e pubblicata da Keb Mo (ft Rosanne Cash) e ora registrata dalla stessa Beth. ‘With Time’ è una bellissimo lamento sul passare del tempo, mentre ‘Dancin with The Past’ affronta un tema simile ma trova Beth in pace con ciò che è accaduto prima, preferendo guardare avanti piuttosto che indietro. ‘The Edge’ è un’emozionante ballad dedicata al primo marito, morto di cancro nel 1994. ‘The Universe’ è un’appassionante marcia rock blues e ‘Hey Girl (We Can Deal With It)’ è un trionfante inno blues.

Anche se ‘CrazyTown’ darà ai fan tutto ciò che vogliono da un disco di Beth Nielsen Chapman, in realtà è una bella svolta per lei, in termini di suoni e del processo di registrazione, lasciando che Ray Kennedy prendesse le redini del tutto. “I let go more on this record than I have ever before in my recording experiences. I turned to Ray and said ‘put me together a slamming band’. And boy did he ever! ‘CrazyTown is a bit of a leap for me. I’ve always loved being in the studio and making records, but I think this experience of these sessions with Ray Kennedy producing really captured the feel and the breath of what happens when I perform live…there’s a spontaneity and immediacy to my vocals and the whole sound has a rawness and an edge that I really love” continua Beth.

Beth Nielsen Chapman è un’artista con molti riconoscimenti al suo nome: la super hit ‘This Kiss’, cantata da Faith Hill, è stata Song of the Year nel 1999 per ASCAP, ha ottenuto una nomination ai Grammy ed il Songwriter of the Year 1999 di Nashville Nammy. Beth ha anche ricevuto un premio speciale dall’Alabama Music Hall of Fame ed è stata insignita del The Distinguished Artist Award dall’Alabama State Council on the Arts nel 2009 e, nell’ottobre del 2016, Beth è stata inserita nella Songwriter’s Hall of Fame, il più alto onore che abbia mai ricevuto. Nel 2019 Beth è stata invitata a diventare Ambasciatrice della Buddy Holly Educational Foundation.
