Rory Gallagher, set deluxe per il 50° anniversario di “Deuce”

Il 30 settembre nuova pubblicazione celebrativa da Universal Music con 28 alternate take inedite, 6 brani dal BBC Radio in concert del 1972

Per celebrare il 50° anniversario di “Deuce“, secondo album solista di Rory Gallagher (1971), Universal Music pubblicherà un box set deluxe e vari altri formati venerdì 30 settembre 2022.

Questa nuova pubblicazione celebrativa scava in profondità nei Rory Gallagher Archives e include un nuovo missaggio dell’album originale, 28 alternate take inedite, 6 brani tratti dal BBC Radio ‘In Concert’ del 1972 e sette tracce di sessioni radiofoniche di Radio Bremen. Il box contiene un libro di 64 pagine con una prefazione di Johnny Marr degli Smiths, immagini inedite scattate dal compianto Mick Rock, note bio-discografiche, saggi e memorabilia dalla registrazione dell’album. Il doppio CD e il triplo LP saranno versioni ridotte della versione deluxe e verrà pubblicato anche un LP colorato disponibile esclusivamente dallo shop online di Universal Music, “BBC In Concert – Live at The Paris Theatre, 13 January 1972”.

Pubblicato nel novembre 1971, solo sei mesi dopo il debutto da solista, “Deuce”, il secondo album di Rory Gallagher, era la sintesi di tutto ciò che si era promesso il chitarrista irlandese dopo lo scioglimento dei Taste. Rory voleva catturare l’energia delle sue esibizioni dal vivo e l’intenzione era quella di registrare i brani immediatamente dopo i concerti, riducendo al minimo la produzione.

Per registrare “Deuce”, Gallagher scelse i Tangerine Studios, un piccolo studio di Dalston nell’East London specializzato in musica reggae, per via della sua storia con il leggendario produttore Joe Meek. Con Gerry McAvoy al basso e Wilgar Campbell alla batteria, l’album venne prodotto da Robin Sylvester e dallo stesso Gallagher.

“Deuce” presenta alcuni tra i brani più famosi dell’artista irlandese, da Crest Of A Wave a I’m Not Awake Yet.
